A TRIO of Queensland’s brightest creative start-ups are in line to represent Australia at the world championships for creative entrepreneurs in Denmark later this year.

Brisbane’s Men on the Moon, the Gold Coast’s comiXchat and Melbourne’s Brandspot and Bluethumb will pitch to early stage investors at QUT’s Creative Enterprise Australia Creative3 Pitch awards on September 17. The winner will go on to represent Australia at the Creative Business Cup in Copenhagen later this year.

Milton-based Men on the Moon boast a two-part business strategy for retailers which features a consumer-friendly app called RocketBuy and Pin&Point, a revolutionary security tag system.

Slated for launch in the next six weeks, RocketBuy offers smartphone users special deals from retailers which they can like or dislike, saving the former and deleting the latter.

“Liked’’ offers are then triggered when the user is within 100m of the store, keeping the consumer in control and opening a new market for retailers.

Once activated, the screens can display the garment’s sizes, colours, price and suitable accessories, mimicking information available online without the need to search the web.
